Plan a Visit

Everyone is welcome to visit RFL during business hours, and to use any of our resources in-house, from meeting rooms to materials.

Please let us know by emailing rutlandfree@rutlandfree.org or calling 802-773-1860 if you are coming for a particular purpose so we can better serve you:

Bring a school, preschool, or camp group! Please reach out as far in advance as possible to see when our children's or teen's librarians are available. We'd love to give your group a tour, get them signed up for library cards, arrange for them to participate in a regular program, or plan a special program to support your curriculum.

Would you rather we brought the library to your school or group? Contact us at rutlandfree@rutlandfree.org to arrange a visit by our children's or teen's librarians! Our librarians can be available for visits during the school day, after school, or for community event nights that you might host.

Genealogy research is mostly self-guided, but we can help you find your way around our local history collection.

If you want to meet formally or informally, you might want to book one of our meeting rooms

The Fox Room is for larger public meetings. The small meeting room also provides a private space for videoconferencing / Zoom / Team calls, and both can be booked in advance.

Brief architectural / history tours are available on minimal notice. Yes! We do have jail cells in the basement.
