RFL maintains a small but carefully curated reference collection in print. Highlights include up-to-date Vermont state statutes, dictionaries, collectors' guides for coins & stamps, medical and literary references, and more. Reference titles may not be taken out of the library, but we often have similar titles / older versions available in the lending collection. Please ask at the Help Desk!

Ancestry.com library edition Only available inside the library, without a site login. Ancestry.com is the world’s largest online resource for family history with more than 11 billion historical records. Sources include censuses, vital records, immigration records, family histories, military records, court and legal documents, directories, photos, maps, and more.

Chronicling America: Vermont Historical Newspapers Nearly 130,000 historical Vermont newspaper pages can be searched or browsed on the website. One can search all of Vermont’s titles or individual titles using a simple keyword search. Chronicling America now boasts titles from all over the state, including Bennington, St. Johnsbury, Middlebury, Brattleboro, Burlington, St. Albans, Newport, Rutland, Woodstock, and Montpelier. • NoveListPlus everything for readers, including suggested reads by title, subject, author, grade level & more, series listed in order … Login with your library card number.
• Sanborn Maps Insurance maps from 1867-1970 for cities in Vermont. Contains information such as the outline of each building, the size, shape and construction materials, heights, and function of structures, location of windows and doors. The maps also give street names, street and sidewalk widths and more.

  Weiss Financial Ratings has impartial information on stocks, mutual funds, exchange traded funds, banks, credit unions, insurance companies, and medigap plans.

  Westlaw Proflex Legal Research Database is the premier database for anything legal: Statutes, opinions, case law … everything you might need to know about state or federal law. Provided through a pilot program subscription from the Community Legal Information Center (CLIC), part of the Vermont Law & Graduate School in South Royalton.
