Interlibrary Loan
Loans from in the catalog
We're happy to get books in from other libraries. Please check in our catalog first. If you find something there that is available at another library, you can simply log in with your library card number and four-digit PIN, place a hold, and we'll get it in for you. This is the quickest, most reliable way to get a loan from a library besides ours. Keep your contact information up to date while you're logged in to your account!
Interlibrary loans
If you don't find a given title, drop by our Help Desk or call 802-773-1860, ext. 101, and ask the librarian to get a copy for you. We'll search the state, then farther afield, and if possible get it for you on interlibrary loan.
If that's not possible, we might also be able to purchase it for you ... just ask!
Please note: Interlibrary loans are free, as are all of our loans. But! If we get an item for you, call you repeatedly to please pick it up, never hear back, and have to return the item untouched, we will charge your account $5 for general aggravation. To avoid this charge, if for whatever reason you cannot pick up an item we get for you, please just drop a line to rutlandfree@rutlandfree.org or call 802-773-1860.
