Using the Library

Rutland Free Library is free & open to all. Visitors are welcome anytime, and are welcome to use any of our resources. Borrowing privileges are restricted to cardholders.

Some people coming to Vermont from other countries may not be aware of all that a public library in Vermont has to offer. Help people in our community learn about public libraries:  share “Welcome to the Library” videos, available in 18 languages. The Vermont Department of Libraries and the Vermont Language Justice Project partnered to create the new “Welcome to the Library” videos. These videos support speakers of languages other than English in connecting with their local public libraries, including refugees, immigrants, and New Americans. They outline what public libraries in the U.S. are, the resources they provide, and encourage people to visit their local library.

Printable flyer to share is here.
