He \nnames his widow Hepzibah and sons Solomon, Jr. and John; \ndaughters Sarah Sherwood and Lois Watkins. The will was \nsigned 22 March 1819 and admitted for probate procedure \nin April 1819.\n\nThere is no doubt but Solomon was a son of Benjamin and \nDeborah Smith Purdy of Manchester, Vt. for in the Bible \nRecords of John Peter Roberts of Manchester, Vt. he \nmentions \"my uncle\" Solomon Purdy who died in Rutland, Vt. \nSince Mr. Roberts was a son of Gen. Christopher and \nMary (Purdy) Roberts the relationship is clearly shown. \nMary Purdy was a daughter of Benjamin and Deborah (Smith)\n\n(Smith) Purdy and a sister of Solomon.\n\nAs for the surname of Hepzibah- she may or maynot have been \na \"Roberts\". If she was a \"Roberts\" then there would have \nbeen a double relationship here.\n\nRevolutionary War Service:\n\nSolomon Purdy appears on a payroll of Capt. Simeon Wright's \nCo. in Col. Warrens Regt. of Militia in the service of this \nand the United States from 7th of Nov 1778 and ending the \n13th both days included- served 7 days. ( Ref: Vt.
