{"page_1": " 55 West Lane,\nMadison, N. J.\nJune 9, 1959\nDear Mrs. Swan,\nI am enclosing an old almanac which might possibly be of interest\nto you.\nI found it in an old trunk of my husband's mother.\nHer maiden\nname was Ida (Eliza Melane) Anderson, daughter of Alva Bingham Anderson who was the son of Matthew Anderson.\nboth of whom\nThe almanac belonged to James G. Anderson I believe you have a\nbrother of Matthew above,\noriginally lived in Rutland, Vt.\nrecord of this family which my husband sent to you in 1954 when you were marking the grave of Matthew Anderson, father of these two brothers.\nAccording to my records, James did not have any children. His\nwife's name was Bakia Sophia\nFinley. Both are buried in Pleasant St.\nCemetery, West Rutland, Vt.\nIf you have no use for it,\nperhaps the Historical Society might\nlike to have it even though it is not in good condition.\nAccording to Ida Anderson Lafler's notes on their family, James Anderson came to Gaines, N. Y. to live with her family for a while after his wife died.\nI am in the process of sorting papers and pictures and keepsakes\nin several trunks.\nAs I go through them, I am trying to send things\nto the places which might like to have them. My daughter is keeping many things but not all of them.\nI have my house on the real estate market and I want to settle in much smaller quarters. Since my daughter married I rattle around in this house.\nWe are still working on the Phineas Stevens and Fanny Grout\nLittle by little we are accumulating data.\nIt is such a\nsatisfaction to acquire even a little bit.\nHope you have a pleasant summer.\nSincerely,\nHazeK. Laflu "}
