Capt Jenkins was\na large land owner and at the time of this he owned\nthe land in the north side of the road leading from the Court House to\nCastleton new West Street from a few rods west of Main Street,\npasses East Creek and adjacent a large part of Pine Hill also owned\nthe mills at the Sheet Falls at Centreville.\n\nIt has been left property was sold to his wife, and half\nto Ambrose J Coon with the heirs of his lady and at the Creek &\nGreen sold a large part of the property east & west of Green\nand Williams farm. Carroll is that part west of East Creek to Judge\nRobert Prophet.\n\nRutland Herald Jan 23, 1876\nVermont Professor Kelley at present is interested in location on old post\nhouse in the city somewhere near the present summit road and to\nrestore the structure which formerly stood at the corner of North Court\nand West streets. The house is still standing, but it has\nbeen damaged by subsequent remodellings to the point where it is no\nlonger recognizable. "}
